Collaboration / by Peter DiStefano

As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration. Other people and other people's ideas are often better than your own. Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.”

Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler, thank you.  The words of wisdom above define the core of how DBCRI operates.  The DiStefano Brothers team is continually looking to work with professionals who “challenge and inspire” us, who make us strive for excellency in all that we do.

Fresh Nest Color and Design, with Janelle Photopolous at the helm, recently entered into one such collaboration with DBCRI.  In my previous blog post, I mentioned that we have recently moved the DBCRI headquarters to Main St. in Wakefield, RI.  In that blog post, I also mentioned Janelle and her work to make our office into a true shared, collaborative space that inspires and energizes.  She not only took on the huge task of decorating the office, but she also reconfigured the footprint of the building for maximum efficiency and space.  Janelle, along with her team of color and space professionals, made our office into a work of art.  We are truly thankful to Janelle and her team for their collaboration, support, and friendship.  You must, must, must visit Fresh Nest Color and Design’s website and Facebook page.  The color and design professionals at Fresh Nest are available for a wide variety of services- you might feel overwhelmed at the task of decorating your house, but it will be a true home by the time the Fresh Nest team is done!  We are spending a lot of time with the Fresh Nest team and it is changing our lives!

In addition to Fresh Nest Color and Design, we collaborate with many other industry professionals.  While there are too many to name in one blog post, I hope to recognize them all as time goes on.   We are also happy to work with the professionals with whom our clients already have relationships.  All of this collaboration is to support our most important collaborative relationship: the one that we nurture with our clients.

Community Tip:  In honor of Amy Poehler and her current Golden Globe award winning show Parks and Recreation (a DBCRI favorite), I want to mention a fabulous resource that we have here in South Kingstown, Rhode Island: The Neighborhood Guild, located on Columbia Street in Peace Dale.  The Neighborhood Guild is a local treasure and the hub of the Parks and Recreation Department in South Kingstown. There are over 1000 recreation programs happening every year in South Kingstown, with many of them occurring at the Guild, from tennis to movie nights to zumba to cultural excursions to other states!  This is in addition to language, art, and cooking classes and many children’s programs and summer camps! Take a look at their seasonal offerings!
